DOHA Nest is a transformative interior renovation that reimagines a typical Toronto condominium unit through what it calls “architectural interventions”—surgical design approaches akin to a lobotomy that reorganize space without altering structural elements. The project realigns the previously cluttered layout around a central hallway to create spatial clarity and depth, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic experience. It integrates the residents’ extensive art collection into custom-designed furniture and architectural features, reflecting their lifestyle and identity in every detail. By prioritizing personal expression over generic design, DOHA Nest challenges the standardization of urban housing and redefines what it means to create a home in a metropolitan context.
